A child headshot photographer needs to know what’s going on in the trend of kids acting pics. Q: Should my teen son wear his facial hair in his headshots?
A: Most agents will say NO. Don’t keep the facial hair for ANY of the looks you shoot. BUT, there are some reps who take a more Indie approach to your kid’s career and will tell you to keep the facial hair for at least 1 look. And, at the end of the day, it’s not a huge deal to remove it. The pic above originally had full facial hair, which we removed using photoshop! You may be able to notice it now, but not without being told first. Casting directors look at a pic for approximately 1-2 seconds, in a very small thumbnail, so there’s no chance it’ll be spotted…
