Senior Pictures Beach Los Angeles When you book your session, be sure to bring clothes for Mom/Dad/Siblings so we can grab a quick family portrait! Clothing doesn’t need to match – just needs to blend. In the shot above, both mom and son are wearing denim, but because they’re different types of denim it blends rather than looking over-done. Mom is also wearing soft blue & white striped pants which blends great as well! Natural makeup & hair works great too.
When you’re planning your wardrobe, you’ll usually want to steer clear of prints. However, some prints work very well – especially if they plan on the theme of water, sand, etc. Here, the blue stripes work well with the blue of the water and the waves. El Matador State Beach is by far our favorite beach for shooting portraits. The lighting is gorgeous, the whole area is absolutely stunning. Malibu Senior Pictures require about a 25 minute drive from our home base, but afterward we recommend getting reservations for a late lunch or early dinner, and enjoy the rest of your day. Beaches can get a little windy, so take full advantage by bringing a lightweight scarf or shawl to add drama to your portraits. A long flowy dress works well too!

White can be a tricky color to shoot outdoors, especially if you have pale or light skin since the white will often act as a harsh reflector under your face. Very dark skin tones can also be effected by wearing white, since it will almost always blow out unless lighting conditions are perfect. However, if you have medium skin tones, white can be a gorgeous choice for your pics!

Often times when we have a senior portraits shoot set up , we like to make sure we have time to snag some amazing beach graduation photos at the end, when the lighting is just right. Golden hour happens the last hour before sunset, and after a full day of shooting, it’s the perfect way to unwind and grab some beautiful shots to end the day.
